Chef Ryan Andre
2017

A native of Baton Rouge who was raised in Gonzales, Chef Ryan Andre’ grew up in a Sportsman's Paradise indulging in every form of fish and game available. The love of hunting, fishing, and eating of local game led to his passion for cooking. His parents Lisa Greer and Larry Andre’ Jr. influenced the chef's drive into the culinary arts. He's a loving husband and proud father of two. He graduated from Louisiana Culinary Institute—and was distinguished as its valedictorian—in 2007. He studied for over a year under James Beard Award-winning Chef Tory McPhail at Commander's Palace of New Orleans. There he refined his art of plate presentation, food quality and freshness, and sourcing local products. Chef Andre’ first went to work for Wayne Stabiler at Little Village Downtown. Eventually Mr. Stabiler would go on to recruit Chef Ryan Andre’ for his new concept, Le Creole Restaurant. Traditional Louisiana cuisine is the chef's favorite style of cooking and at Le Creole he has full freedom of creativity to bring these traditional Louisiana dishes to new life. In 2012 Chef Ryan Andre’ won the Louisiana Cookin' Magazine's Chef to Watch. He also won the 2013 Slow Food's People's Choice Award.
