CHEF STEPHEN COBLENTZ

Chef Stephen Coblentz was born in Biloxi, MS and grew up along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He began cooking at a young age but decided to make it a full-time career around the age of 17. Since then, Chef Stephen has worked in various styles of restaurants before landing at the Golden Nugget Lake Charles in September 2014. He currently serves as the Executive Chef at Chart House Restaurant.

Seafood is Chef Stephen’s area of expertise, having grown up with access to some of the freshest and best seafood in the country. His cooking style reflects Southern, Creole roots incorporated with old school and new school techniques. Chef Stephen believes that chefs are never done learning whether it is techniques, regional cuisines, or sourcing locally grown products. That mindset has been one of the biggest tools that he has used to propel forward throughout his career. That tool and his skills have won Chef Stephen several awards including the 2022 Golden Nugget Lake Charles Iron Chef Winner and 2022 Landry’s Inc. Iron Chef Gold Medalist for the second time.
