Chef Owen Huhl 2023 Louisiana Hot Tails Owen Hohl, the Executive Chef of Hot Tails Restaurants, was born in Puerto Cortes, Honduras and grew up in Metairie, Louisiana. Owen started his culinary journey at Grace King High School where he competed in and won a ProStart state championship. After Grace King, Owen attended Louisiana Culinary Institute in Baton Rouge to further his culinary knowledge. In 2010, Hot Tails in New Roads opened, and he was given the opportunity to showcase and expand his culinary experience. Throughout his thirteen year career at Hot Tails, Owen was promoted to Executive Chef and was instrumental to the successful opening of a second Hot Tails location in Prairieville, Louisiana. Owen has competed in both Fete Rouge and Crawfete and has received first place multiple years. He is honored to compete in the Great American Seafood Cookoff where he will be representing the great state of Louisiana.
