Chef Trenten Oliphant 2026 Ponchatoula Maurepas Catch and Grill Chef Trenten Oliphant is the Executive Chef/owner of soon to be Maurepas Restaurant in Ponchatoula, La. Trenten attended Hammond High Magnet School, where he spent two years in the ProStart Program. He and his team received one Culinary State Championship and placed third the following year. After high school, Trenten attended the prestigious Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, NC. At the age of 20, he opened his first restaurant with his family, known as The Depeaux. The Depeaux serves high quality bar and grill fare with a southern flair. They are known for their extensive house-made wing sauce selection, burgers, and weekly farm-to-table specials. At age 24, he opened his second restaurant, Benteaux. A restaurant that involves his two favorite cuisines, Asian & Cajun. Benteaux is known for its ramen and small plates dishes that meld the two cuisines perfectly. Now, he’s more than excited to open Maurepas Restaurant, a place that will champion local seafood and ingredients. Trenten co-owns all his restaurants with his dad, Eddie & brother, Ryan. They all play essential roles in the business and hope to expand to other cities throughout the southern United States. In his off time, Trenten enjoys spending time with his Fiancée, Shalee and son, Winsten. Trenten also enjoys playing guitar, praising God & hunting. His motto is simple; “Research + Execution”. He believes that this plays a big part in becoming a great chef and will continue to live by this motto throughout his culinary career.
