Enjoy Sustainable Seafood Year-Round

October is over, and we hope you celebrated National Seafood Month by eating as much U.S. seafood as we did! While the month may be wrapping up, you can make every month Seafood Month by following these easy steps.

1. Ask where the seafood comes from. This is an easy first step to eating sustainably. Thanks to the Country of Origin Labeling Law, businesses must be able to inform customers of the location the seafood was landed. 

2. Pick U.S. Seafood. Thanks to the rigorous management here in the Gulf and across the U.S., American fisheries are among the most sustainable in the world. By purchasing domestic seafood, you are supporting American fishermen who work incredibly hard to bring seafood to your plate every day. 

3. Download our Gulf Seafood Guide. G.U.L.F. developed a smartphone app to give you easy access to information about some of the more popular seafood species in the Gulf. The Gulf Seafood Guide is available in iTunes and Google Play.
