The announcement took place this morning at the grand opening of the Another Broken Egg Cafe organization’s newest Baton Rouge location at 555 Lafayette St.
“We’re proud to announce this incredible new partnership between Louisiana seafood and the Another Broken Egg Cafe family, while opening our newest Baton Rouge location,” said Stuart Ottinger, president of the Double R Restaurant Group, which owns the franchise on the new downtown location and is the brand’s largest franchisee group. “It’s not often we get to say that commuters, downtown residents and Louisiana fishermen all along the coast will enjoy this new location. We are proud to represent this commitment to sell Louisiana seafood nationwide with this new initiative.”
With the agreement, approximately 65 Another Broken Egg Cafes nationwide will sell Louisiana shrimp and crawfish. In addition, as the restaurant chain continues to expand with 80 new cafes in development, the agreement includes the new locations. Recognizing the importance of the restaurant’s commitment to Louisiana seafood, Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser applauded the grand opening of Another Broken Egg Cafe’s Baton Rouge location.
“It is always an economic victory for Louisiana when a local company grows nationwide, and still chooses to expand its own operations and brand within our state’s borders. It’s downright incredible when that same company commits to supporting a critical local industry through its national supply chain,” said Nungesser. “Another Broken Egg Cafe’s decision to expand here will create 40 new jobs in the heart of Baton Rouge, while its dedication to Louisiana seafood will help promote the health benefits and flavor of the delicious seafood coming from our waters. I know that residents and tourists visiting Baton Rouge will enjoy this great dining experience with the best tasting, local ingredients.”
With the new restaurant, Baton Rouge foodies living and working in the downtown region will experience an array of chef-driven, fresh, southern-inspired, made-to-order dishes featuring high quality, creative ingredients including locally-sourced produce. They will also enjoy a full bar and genuine, southern hospitality.
“As a Lafayette native and restaurant entrepreneur, the opportunity to open a restaurant in downtown Baton Rouge is a dream come true, and doing it in a way that helps local fishermen and the seafood industry is really the icing on the cake,” said Ottinger. “I can speak for all of us here at the Another Broken Egg Cafe organization that we’re proud to support our home state and excited about joining the downtown Baton Rouge family.”
Guests of Another Broken Egg Cafe restaurants can enjoy a fresh take on morning favorites like the Bananas Foster Pancakes, or Shrimp ‘n Grits, and the Cajun Louisiana Crawfish Skillet, each prepared with Louisiana-sourced shrimp and crawfish.
